Description

Infinite Labs Glutamine MTX 250 Grams Description

Glutamine is considered to be the most abundant amino acid in the human body – making up more than 60% of skeletal muscle tissue. Glutamine is synthesized by the enzyme glutamine synthetase from glutamate and ammonia. 19% of the glutamine molecule is made up of nitrogen, thusly making it the primary medium of nitrogen to the muscles. It is found in high concentrations in the brain, heart, kidneys, lungs, gut lining and liver, and it serves as a fuel for the immune system and digestive track. Along with its key role in the immune system and the intestinal lining, glutamine plays a major part in cell-volumizing and muscle protein synthesis, as well as promoting healthy blood sugar control, already in normal range.* In the brain, glutamine is converted to glutamic acid and stimulates the synthesis of GABA, an essential brain neurotransmitter.

Research suggests bodybuilders and athletes can benefit from increased consumption of this non-essential amino acid –especially post-workout. When you train, glutamine levels typically drop as much as 50%. Muscle catabolism sets in post-workout as the body robs the muscles of glutamine to utilize in the immune system or nitrogen transport. Lactic acid build up also accumulates in the muscles as a direct consequence of an intense workout. Studies have continuously suggested that glutamine supplementation effectively decreases muscle tissue breakdown, while promoting protein metabolism.

It is also surmised to aid in the production and secretion of Human Growth Hormone (HGH), ultimately contributing to the metabolism of body fat and muscle anabolism.

During digestion, free form L-glutamine is highly susceptible and unstable, and it’s typically robbed by the gut and the immune system explicitly.* In terms of bodybuilding, one of the main objectives of glutamine supplementation is to enhance the recovery process by slowing muscle catabolism and enhancing protein synthesis.* Consequently, if the L-glutamine molecules are specifically targeting the gut and the immune system, this leaves almost nothing to assist the muscle in their repairing process. Thus, Infinite Labs® has combined four types of glutamine, including the susceptible L-glutamine molecule, which provides a more stable and highly bioavailable glutamine matrix in order to supply the body with the most optimal form of glutamine supplementation. These other glutamine forms (L-Glutamine Alpha Keto Glutarate; N-Acetyl L-Glutamine; L-Glutamine Peptide) offer different pharmacokinetic properties that are able to reach the muscle cells in order to ensure all of the essential functions required by bodybuilders and athletes.

Summary of Glutamine Supplementation Benefits:

  • Glutamine facilitates the production of Human Growth Hormone (HGH) levels which can contribute to lipid breakdown and muscle growth.

  • Glutamine is suggested to enhance protein synthesis by helping prevent the muscles from being catabolized.

  • Glutamine helps maintain cell volume and hydration.

  • Glutamine is one of the most essential nutrients for the intestines. It maintains the structural integrity of the bowels.

  • Glutamine may serve to boost your immune system. This is especially important to bodybuilders since intense training regimens tend to greatly deplete glutamine levels.

  • Glutamine assists in the delivery of nitrogen to the muscles.

  • Glutamine plays a role in supporting healthy blood sugar control, when already in normal range.
